I had a Kingfisher with stick steering many years ago and on a windy day, it would nearly beat me to death!

I think of those more for smaller water or calm days. I wouldn't want to sit on the part made for cutting the waves. Although, it would be nice not to have to get up so much.

Don't get me wrong, it was a great little boat and mighty convenient. I was a bass fishermanbarf at that time (24 yrs old & full of myself... & not too bright) and it was great to barrel into a cove & kill the motor & sling the TM into the water & be casting a spinnerbait before the boat even coasted to a stop. BUT, no matter which direction the wind was out of, if it was over 10-12 mph on Palestine, crossing the lake with a 50 Merc, if not every wave, at least every other wave was a bone jarring, back wrenching, teeth clenching BAM! when the bow slapped the water. crying

I had a Tracker panfish back in the mid 90's. It had a 25hp Mercury. It was a great little boat for fishing shore lines and coves. Wish I still had it.

Stick steering is a great way to save space in a smaller boat. The Tracker Panfish is a good small boat. It is light and easy to launch and pick up. A friend had one with a 25 HP motor and I have spent many hours driving the boat. Go for it.

Yep. We had a Sidewinder stick steer back when I was a kid. A windy day you needed your mouth guard in. eek

I have the panfish 16 and love it. I fish mainly in the backwaters and shallow coves. Mine has the 40 HP with tilt/trim. I also installed electric anchors on the front and rear so all I have to do it pull up to a spot, kill the motor, drop the anchors, and fish. Never have to leave my seat. As stated above it is not meant for big water though. It is a very rough ride in rough water and you will get wet. I've had mine for about 10 years and don't see me selling it any time soon.

Good Matt. Probable discharge date of 5/9. Man we're ready.

I've had a 16' home built stick steer, 40 hp Merc for years! I love that little boat. They will take a lot of abuse and you can get into places nobody else can. Easy to load alone, easy to tow and easy to store.
You can build one for half of what BPS wants for theirs. Get one, you won't regret it!

Cheers, cheers

George
