I didn't buy one but a guy I work with bought one in DFW area while at coaching clinic. It was the Daiwas with the twitchin bar. I am not sure the original price but he got it for 49 bucks. He said the guy told him they were not selling them so they were getting rid of them. Anyone use one? Are they any good or kinda a gimmicky useless reel?

There were different models, the viento was the best one. It was blue and retailed for 200+ good reel. I had one, the twitching bar never got used, but it was just like a normal reel otherwise, and it never got in the way. The other model was a cheap one they sold at Walmart and it was junk

I had a Viento, and I thought they were gimmicky. Decent reel, but I hardly ever used the twitchin' bar. The only time it got in the way was if I was picking out a backlash and the line got wrapped around it. I'm sure you could get used to using the twitchin' bar, but as the adage goes, "It's hard to teach an old dog new tricks." I just couldn't get used to it.

I had one and did not like it. It was in the way for me when making long casts with a crankbait or spinnerbait.

its excellent for worm and jig fishing... I have one and love it

Unfortunately I have one. Never gets used.

Gimmicky for sure, "but" if you can get one cheap, put it on a back up rod

I like the twitching bar for smoking while fishing t rigs....

I've got one that I would be willing to part with. Works perfectly.

It does keep my bird hand free when the jet skiers are getting too close.
