I mostly use fluorocarbon, but do use braid in heavy vegetation, reeds, or salt cedars. My most common wt is 20lb and 50lb (braid)

25Lb XPS fluorocarbon works well in every situation except heavy vegetation.

You need to ditch that PP carp and try some good braid, Matt. Suffix 832 Performance Braid is where it's at!

I use 20lb 100% trilene flouro most of the time. If I'm in real thick heavy stuff I switch to 50lb power pro braid.

For pitching at targets I'm using 20 or 25 pound P-line.
For casting in clear water and using a lighter jig I'll go as low as 10 pound Berkley 100% but I'm more comfortable with 12.

In heavy cover and when in doubt I use my 50 pound braid.

Ken recommended that I try this stuff and it's great! thumb

If I'm flippin' heavy cover I'm using braid. In open water it's 20# flouro. As far as jig size goes, I try to throw/flip the lightest I can get away with. I want that jig to fall as slowww as possible.
