Looking at the weather report and seems like its gonna be a bluebird day on saturday. I know that means fish will be tight to cover but what r the best baits and colors to throw on days like these?

kitchen sink pattern. . . throw everything except the kitchen sink. . . if all else fails, throw the sink.

Bumping for you, because I'd like to see some others' approach as well. I'm really not too sure on how to advise.

Well.... many individuals think because it's blue bird skies the fishing will be tough. Not necessarily. Seasonal patterns can play a big part in how you approach it. Especially, pre-spawn. I would check staging areas next to spawning flat (main lake points with deep water access) then work my way to secondary points leading to spawning pockets. My first choice would be reaction baits to trigger response (since they will be suspended for the most part). This is where repeated casts play a major role. You can never make too many casts to specific targets or areas. If reaction baits doesn't elicit a strike then go back through these areas with soft plastics and pick it apart. Remember you can quickly tell which part of the lake is lively and which parts are dead. Hope this kinda points you in the right direction.

Bluebird skies should only be judged by two other key factors and IMO they are water clarity and wind. For instance if its blue bird but there is some decent wind then feeding activity will be higher in a given area. In regards to water clarity, the clearer the water the tuffer the bite will be. I always go to the mid-upper areas of lakes if its blue bird and there is no wind, because typicaly those areas have the water clarity I prefer and the fish in these areas are not affected as much by the bluebird conditions. This is what has worked for me so its what I stick with.

Like tank said all depends on water clarity in lake and cover in lake. You give me bluebird days on a clear water lake with grass im throwing a suspending jerkbait. If lake has dirtier water you can flip or you can grab a squarebill or a indiana blade spinnerbait and bang shallow cover.
