This is a forum and any topic can be posted up in this section if it pertains to bass fishing! This is a great post to notify all the inconsiderate, unsportsman like anglers who think they own the water, dont own the waters they fish, LMAO!! If it were me in the situation I would have had some choice words for the guy to let him know what I think about his tactics. Maybe this post will give the unsportsman like anglers who read this a clue to what they are doing and change there ways. But then again they might not.

I really can't Believe Someone would even say that this should be ignored because " it happens all the time".

Nobody may OWN a spot on the water, but if they are there first then you don't pull in on them PERIOD. If you do, you are a Low life punk that should have been taught some manners when you were growing up.

I think this is very deserving of a post and encourage everyone to call out these idiots that have no respect everytime it happens.

I had a similar situation happen this weekend. It amazes me how ill mannered some bass fishermen are these days. It felt great to pull the second place sack out of my livewell right in front of him though. A good tongue lashing won't get you to far with these kinda people..It's just in them to be rude.

Reporting back to the TD is CS in my opinion...its kinda like tattle telling aint it? Handle it on the water, which he did by saying something to the guy and let all all your buddies know and other folks as well that may be fishing with the dude so word gets out to the guy. He may stop...he may not. If he don't, justice will be served cuz he'll keep doing it to other folks and eventually get run off anyways more than likely the ole fashioned way. I'm just not gonna pull out my phone and snap a pic of the guy and go tell his momma. If I was there first I'm gonna fish my spot and I'm not gonna leave til I'm ready to. A forum is here to spread information I thought.... which is what he was doing.

Kinda like the fat guy at Falcon being rude to everyone.... I didn't know about the guy but I appreciate everyone saying something about it on here for the next time I go down there. If I do..

No he doesn't. Most of the time his boat is being towed by another boat or his trolling motor. grin

And he's right. This stuff happens all the time. Nobody owns spots. If you want to keep people out, put a high fence up around 'your spot'. If it was so offensive, why not take a picture of the rig with his TX numbers, and report him to the TD if he was in fact in the BWS derby? Or even post it up here?

I swear the internet turns men in to blue haired ladies over trivial stuff like this. Comical.

I agree 100%. It called proper edicate or in tournament terminology (SPORTSMANSHIP). Plain and simple. No one is saying they own the water but if someone is fishing a particular area, leave them be. Come back later or ask to join them. What's so hard about that? I can almost guarantee the guys that have a problem with men who speak up about these issues are the main violators of this UNWRITTEN RULE. They probably couldn't find nevertheless catch a fish if their life depended on it. Just saying.....

I haven't used Tungsten, but i have used a 1oz jig. Will do it again too. But I usualy just bounce the Gelcoat. I don't try to kill someome by hitting them in the head with it.

I guess I was just raised with some manners and Respect and I get mad when someone pushes too far.

Maybe you missed the part where I said I asked him if he wanted to get in the boat with me...so I did "deal with it there".

you must have a lot of money handy when it comes to repairing peoples boats.... I'm sure a 1oz weight could do some damage.

It will put a chip in it, But I never have had a problem with them coming back on me. I am sure it was an accident that my jig hit them when they were too close though.

there was a spot on the pines this weekend where there were 4 boats fishing there at one time. the spot is really only big enough for one boat, but people will crowd in there like that is the only place on the lake to fish. I think if there is a boat fishing a small area you need to respect them and go find another spot to fish. the problem is we have too many idiots fishing who cant find their own fish and have to crowd community holes. these wannabee bass fishermen need to spend some time on the water finding their own spots, and show some respect to other anglers. it used to be first one there got the hole. now its come one come all. Its an embarasment to the sport. And for those of you that dont think this needs to be addressed your probably the idiots doing it.Learn to fish, and stay out of other boats livewells.

Sorry to hear this

I was fishing the brides in Ledbetter 90% of the day Saturday and didn't see the confrontation

It was a very busy place since it was sort of out of the wind
There were 2-4 boats on each bridge most of the day

LilLouie- Don't think it would be on his dime. The first problem would be proving it. His word against yours. Second your not gonna keep him there until police show up that's false imprisonment. I've done this twice had a ski boat that just insisted to keep circling me i hit the side with a 1oz weight guy stopped got all pissy told him it was an accident said he was gonna call police. I told him call the gw that way he could get a ticket for endangering me. Not saying what i did was right but he stopped and hopefully he had a learning experience. Same with a jet ski works everytime. Think your boat would look sweet on your own dime if this happened to you.

Yeah, the proof is the part that get's ya. Just because I said I will do it, Doesn't prove I did and it sure doesn't prove what happened to your glass.

I don't want you to take me wrong, I am not some bully on the lake, but I do stand my ground. I won't move in on anyone period and I am not likely to let them push me off a spot.

Now if you ask, I will probably not have a big issue and more than likely let you in but don't push, because I will push back

Admitting it was an accident is admitting fault. Nobody ever said the Police being able to do anything about it. Thats what insurance companies are for and civil court as well. Either way your responsible for the damamge to the other guys boat. yea my boat would look sweet but it wouldn't be on my dime. Either way, I dont crowd folks so I doubt this would ever happen to me. I'm just saying I don't think it happens as much as some folks on here act like it does. Maybe I'm wrong...pretty dang childish IMO but I'll be danged if I would allow anyone to throw something at my boat and just get away with it...
