Where is the best sandbass run for yak fishing? How is the water level at colorado bend. For early march time.thanks for any info. Chillymac

If the water is not too high and fast, the Sabine in the Carthage area is very good from Feb to early April. I do real well at low water levels. When the water is high you have to fight the current and the fish are harder to find.(For me anyway)

I am in dallas area. I have heard the the water is low at colorado bend.Brother inlaw and myself would like to do some camping and fishing in the yak.

I was just on the Colorado river Sunday, just above Bend. Flows were decent, normal, with off colored water. Made my way up to a riffle that holds fish. None there yet. Probably not many coming up out of lake this season. But I think there are some resident whites that make thier way around in the various large pools, I catch them there every year. No matter what the flow is.

Plan to go the 21 22 23 of Feb. Camp at the park and fish up the river.
