I have seen these in the belly of Waleye in UTE and Conchas Lakes back in the Day the Pecos drainage is full of these, I have caught these in the throw nets in Texas Abilene area,I have caught and seen these in Lake Benbrook in the summer months close to the shore also and found the big slabs to have a lots of these in their stomach also so.

Nice jigs, great paint job. When I was young dad and I would seine red horses form the rivers and stock tanks and use them for bait.

Had some Red Horse minnows in an aquarium that I caught as a kid and, that pic you found is exactly what they look like. They are a good looking fish and it looks like you matched the hatch!

They seem to be the go to bait the last few months for sure.

Pat, I only have one suggestion that would make those jigs look the best they can...... you should give me a few to hang in my jig box. Dude those are nice.
Squeaky just gotta come in and show off his stuff. You guys got this tying thing down. As far as the blue doing good, I posted an article about colors fish can see and it said that blue and purple are two of the last colors that loose their color as you start to loose the light...so it sounds like blue is a natural for being good. Great job fellas.
