The 1st session is officially done.It was a funny day to say the least.We started off this morning with wind chills in the low teens.I got there around 6 and the couple that runs Meadowmere Park were very nice and opened up the gate early for us. Austin arrived a few minutes after I did and we got busy setting things up.People started arriving and a few came out felt the wind and left.Everyone was set up and Joe took a picture of ice on his rods.We didnt quite get 25 that was supposed to come but we did end up with 12 fishing and about 5 come by to hang out. Lots of fish were caught with the biggest being a 21 lb buf caught by Marty in the last hour.We all packed up and got out of ther as fast as we could before we all froze to death.lol. Austin has all the pics took from today on his camera. Heres the results from today.

After a good start to the year I have settled back into my usual pattern of blanking.

Had fun today though, but it was definitely not for the weak hearted.

That darn wind was actually sucking my beanie right off of my head!(see pic above)

Oh my was it cold. You would have get in your car or bivvy to get out of that wind and warm up but it would be such adrenaline rush when you got that run out of no where..... until you realize that as you landing the fish your hands are so cold and numb that you can barely release your grasp from the rod.

Even though it was cold enough to make your gentleman's sausage shrink up like bacon in a pan, I had a great time fishing and hanging our with everyone that showed up.

Well.....my momma didn't raise a dummy. ......hats off to you guys!!

Carl, his son and I went to the appointed area and we were there at 7AM...paid the 5 bucks t enter the park, and drove around,,,,White Caps, Howling wind,, no shelter,fellow angler dressed up looking like NONOOK OF THE NORTH was a sight to behold,, ,,we went to the windward side, said NO EFFEN WAY, got to give Chris, Steve, Ben and Joe,,,credit tough dudes,, ,and much younger than me,,went to the Lee Side, ( which could have been the Windward side as well Chatted with Rick, who was apologetic for the weather as he should be cause it was all his fault
drove around again, had a little straw ballot in the truck, and decided to look for calmer pastures,,,,CONGRATULATIONS to the guys that were there and on their captures,,,,,you deserved and earned them....we managed a nice kitty, and a Carp, around 9 pounds or so,,,
nice venue, just foo danged Cold and Windy for my old bones,,,,
