Love hot dogs for pond fishing I use a #6 circle hook and cut 1 inch pieces...the trick to keeping the dog on the hook is make sure you feed the hook through both sides of the skin...with a circle its almost like the hook is hugging the bait.

But I have had better luck with chicken liver at night...but that's just me.
