I love all the critics online..

spend 3 days on the water against the best (willing to put up the cash) and see how yall do.....in the worst conditions...

I don't think a great tournament means 30# sacks.... it means close competition and a good atmosphere ....

and 2 people at the end of day one with 18.00 and 18.10 is pretty awesome, considering they are tied after day 3, with fish-off tomorrow..first legal keeper wins it!

thats exciting....all the nay-sayers need to stfu

7am to noon fishoff. Not the first legal keeper. Might be the first time both blank.

If you want to see what Hubbard can pump out to the Elite guys, check the results from the PAA All Star event last year. Those weights were with low water, 25-40 MPH winds the entire event!
I don't doubt you're right about it skewing my perspective. And like I said, I know it puts out big sacks, but it's always seemed to me like there are a few specific spots that only the guys who fish the lake all the time know about, because there's always a high percentage of blanks too.

Anyway, like I said, if you guys consider RH to be a considerably better fishery than Lewisville, then I sure don't ever want to fish Lewisville. Of course, all that being said, I have never been to the RH river because I didn't know how to get there and didn't want to risk damaging the boat. And I know that's where a lot of the PAA guys spent there time last year.

So what happens if they both blank?

Wah! 50lb sacks were not caught so it's a terrible fishery!?! Ridiculous...hike up the big girl panties and do what you can with what you got...25 degrees and equal winds are difficult...period... Put that on top of the rain and it staining the water a week prior. LL is not my favorite lake but I've had good days (23-27lb sacks) and I've had bad (0lb sacks). I've done the same on every lake.

I wouldn't expect huge prize money and prize boats to be easy. Hats off to the guys who toughed it out and made the best with what mother nature provided.

If I can catch fish out of a Jon Boat consistently there, and not just in the river, it cant be that tough...just need to put in some more time...maybe work a little harder.

For all that say Lewisville sucks, I agree but I also agree all lakes suck when it is 25 degress and the wind is blowing 30mph...No one does good in those conditions! For all that want to move it, where can you move it to and gaurantee good weather? If the tourney was two weeks ago, it would have took 20lbs a day to be in the top 12.

The city of Lewisville did a great job, the anglers did a great job, but the weather did a horrible job. We live in Texas, that is how it is here. It can snow one day and be 75 the next!

I guess I need to go fish that marina on Dalrock some!

I don't want to sidetrack this thing any more than I already have. But I got back into fishing in March 2010 and went out to RH maybe a dozen times (sometimes all day, sometimes just a couple hours) that next year and caught 8 fish total in those 12 trips. My first trip to Fork was Feb. 2011. I instantly fell in love and I haven't been to a lake other than Fork since.

Part of it could be that I grew up fishing Ray Roberts exclusively and the fishing style at Fork is so much more similar to Roberts than RH. I had never fished a rock bridge or marina in my life til I started fishing RH. It's just not a style of fishing I enjoy and maybe I'm just spoiled because my other points of reference are Fork and the 1990's Ray Roberts. Boy, you couldn't beat a fire & ice culprit worm out on Ray Bob back in the day!

the lake would never EVER take 20 lbs a day to make the top 12. That lake reacts so poorly to pressure that if you can ever average 15 a take you will make top 12, I don't care how good they bite in practice!

Brandon, two weeks ago the lake fished strong! The weather was perfect and the average sacks were 20-23lbs for best 5.

I agree but not with 178 boats beating on the same areas.

Just for clarification.... the average sack on Lewisville was 20 23 pounds for the pros during practice.... ?

I dont think so. Research weights on Lewisville and it will help you get a little bit better judge for the weights this hidden gem puts out.

Barrett...It was for me...I did my research on the lake! I know my finish didn't show it but weather had a lot to play in my finish, just like everyone else.

Right on... Congrats for even fishing in such awful conditions. Def more than I would have done.

My point is that if 178 boats were averageing 20-23 pounds in practice per day then that lake was fishing better then arguably any lake in the country and handling pressure much better then she usually does.
