I have a fish cat 10 IR stand up and was curious what thrust trolling motor would power it, and how much of a headache is it to deal with setup and taken down and loading and unloading battery? Plus charger etc. How much weight would the motor and battery setup add to the craft?

Thanks

One more thing to considr, putting a motor on any water craft to be used in public lakes and ponds, requires a TX number.

I would think you'd add 40-50lbs. For fishing, anything would do. 30lbs thrust would be sufficient. I would recommend a seat riser and swivel.

Just for comparison, a 2.5hp suzuki gas engine weighs just over 30lbs with oil and fuel.

Thanks. I know I would need to register. Would 30lb thrust really get it going? Or just cruise?

Alright so I'm either getting the 30lb or 40lb minn kota transom mount, and most likely the everstart 27dc-6 battery from walmart, but what else would I need? What is a battery box? would I need one for the back of the pontoon?

You might want a box to keep things dry. Other than that, you just need a fish finder to hook up to it, too.

Received trolling motor from walmart via fedex today. 99 cent shipping and 30$ cheaper than anyone else. Not bad. Got the 40lb endura2 from minn kota. Head to walmart in AM and get everstart DC 27 marine battery, charger then get it registered and i'll be set!
