That I suck at playing guitar, I went to guitar center today and was just tire kicking a few guitars. Well there was this guy in there strumming on a Gibson and talking to the guy that worked there, it sounded like I was at a concert and he was just messing around, I wanted to pick a guitar up and pick a little but I felt inadiquate. So I left cussing that guy!

Dont do that to yourself. Most musicians are very tolerant of beginners. After all, we all went through the same thing.
It just takes time and dedication...so next time....strike up a conversation with the guy. Then ask him to show you how "he did that". People do it me all the time and I'm more than happy to show them.

I was going to do that, but he was talking to another artist so I just left.

Well, I'll teach you how to play the Alto Sax if it'll make you feel better!

The only regret I have in my life is that I didn't learn the Piano or the Guitar!

I second what the wise Old Frog said! Pickers are a fraternity who will always help a fellow picker out! Plus, it is a compliment when you ask another player "how are you doing that...or what chord is that?...etc."

Be happy knowing that the guitar is a lifelong love and that no matter how proficient you get on the instrument, you'll never learn it all and no matter how great a picker you become, you'll always see someone who is better at it than you.....kind of like bass fishing!

Yup, don't give it up, I've been playing for about 10 years and really haven't gotten any better, mainly just learned to turn it up and not give a cheet. I think when you can turn it up and try and play along with some buddy guy without feeling timid, your on your way.
