A few years ago I was a member of the GTBC which allowed you to fish stock tanks all over the state. I can not find them any where. Does anyone know if that is still around or if there is anything like it?

I was a member of The Great Texas Bass Club for 8 years. I loved the concept and bought the company 2 years ago. We have renamed the club to Private Water Fishing. We have added 17 new lakes in the last 25 months.

Please call or visit our web-site.

Has anyone fished on these lakes? If so, what have been your experiences? I'm looking for a place to take my sons to relax, enjoy peace and quiet, perhaps spend the night in a cabin once in a while, and of course to catch lots of fish.

I have fished a few of the lakes back when it was the Great Texas Bass Club. The bass fishing was phenomenal on those private lakes and the peace and quiet was great too!

I enjoyed it and it was professionally operated. I am sure the new owners run a 1st class business too.

I was a member for a few years until 7 or 8 years ago. Several of the lakes I used to fish are still in the clubs listing. I enjoyed fishing the lakes and had many great days taking my wife and kids there. In fact one of my most favorite fishing memories with my wife came from Decatur Valley tank one perfect April day smile

well, I was trying to add more to my post but had screen "issues"..

Catching lots of fish was never a problem on most of the lakes - catching anything of size was often a challenge though. There are a couple of trophy ponds but I didn't fish them. The current owner was a club member for a long time before buying the club so he knows how it should be operated. If you want a simpler way to fish, and want to know that you at least have your bait around fish, then this is a good way to go.
