Big Pimpin' Rims with Spokes

I was on I-10 westbound from downtown Houston just a bit ago and saw the darndest big pimpin' car I've seen in a long time. Late model Caddy CTX, candy-apple red, white pinstripes and other white markings all over it and some spoked twenty-foes. Not just any spokes, mind you, these suckers came out the edges of the rim and formed a nice point, with some Ben Hur chit on the ends of them. These spokes protruded past the white sidewalls at least 18 inches, if not more  I would think those rims would be a hazard to the driver and anyone around her speeding, weaving in an out of traffic, cell phone yakking self. No time to snap a cell photo and was in heavy traffic anyway. But really, are those spokes legal?

you can be up to 8'6" wide and be legal on the road.

Then I guess she was legal. But dang! imagine being on one of the high overpasses and having to swerve? I'll guarantee she'll wreck that car in no time. If her pimp lets her drive it all the time.

Probably was her lv. Can't be but one. She got off onto 610 headed north.
But hang on, hoppy, you said 8'6'' is legal. That's 102 inches, right? Just looked up specs on that car, and it's 72.5 inches wide + 36" of spokes = 108.5 inches?

i saw some like the the other day, they were only maybe 18's or so but the spokes came about 6 inches outside and had the same midevil wagon wheel [censored] on them, i couldn't believe it.
