i trimmed up the back of my 8 foot pro angler, turned out great! Did alot of research before i did it. I was able to get the butt cap back on also with no problem, tell me what you think!!

I love the rod but i didnlt like the long handle.. I guess its just me, but i only use it for slips/barges..

Looks good. I did the same to an older 7ft. BPS Wally Marshall IM8 several years ago. I wanted a rod just for verticle jigging on the fishing barges.

I did the same with my 8 ft pro angler cork. Just personal preference I guess.

I have done the same to all mine,and cut the reel seats off ,then added a piece of cork to fill in where the reel seat was on my 7-8 ft. the rest of my rods all have Tennessee handles,

Nice work! I just did the same thing to an old Speed Stick I had, when I fish a barge my flyrod is really too long...

Yea, me too, I like the way a long butt feels.. but also I prefer cork. ProAngler is my rod of choice. But, as he said, if that is what you like, good for you and yes, it looks nice. You did a fine job. thumb

The only regret I have from cutting the handle off is now this rod is only useful for slips and barges. I guess this gives me a reason to buy another one.
