Well I finally get to buy a handheld GPS and not sure which to get. Anybody out there have any suggestions on what to look for and what to stay away from? Kinda leaning towards the Garmin 76 or 72H. Any recommendations would be great!

I bought a lowrance Endura Outback (yellow, touch-screen, color display) a couple of years ago to use in my flat bottom... Not sure about the Garmin you are leaning towards, but I really like this one I got. It's easy to use, easy to see in the sun, and does everything i need it to. Only thing I don't like is the maps that are pre-loaded, horrible detail. I bought some detailed maps online, but it seems like they slow it down too much. I bet an SD card with maps on it would make a big difference.

Millman has a Lowrance and it is SPOT ON when we try to locate a pile by his waypoint. Also, it communicates nicely (same GPS format) with the Lowrance units on my boat which makes it better when we are fishing together. I own a Garmin Legend and it's ok but I really like the Lowrance better. Just my 2cents

I have a Garmin etrex, best $99.00 I ever spent.
My 2 cents.
