Sorry to hear about this unfortunate event. If we did things like they do in other countries like oh I don't know chop off a hand for stealing I think some people might think twice before taking that which is not theirs. But oh no we will slap them with 5 years probation or less. On a better note I wish you luck in your tournament :-)

That sucks. I'm glad you posted this though. I've discovered that there's quite a trend of thieves targeting fishermen. I'm going to be a lot more careful on my trips for now on.

I'm sure thieves get what they deserve at some point in life.

Im sorry to hear that. Whats incredible is the boats that are stored outside at my storage facility all have there electronics just sittting there in the open.

You know, if they did here like what they do in some countries like cutting off hands, there might be less of this kinda chit!

This thread reminds me why I mark everything. Any piece of equipment I dont want to loose (which is everything but baits) is tagged permanently. Rods, reels, bags, electronics, TM, batteries, you name it. Good luck.

All that an probably a broken window to pay for also. I'm sorry to hear about that. There was another guy posting on this site a few days ago and he kept an eye on Craigslist... anyway I think he ended up getting his stuff back.

How could we identify the stuff? Any special markings to watch for? Along those lines what is the best way for marking your stuff?

You can usually find a spot on most things for a dremel tool. Permanant markers on bags.

Man that stinks!! Even having items marked doesn't make them come back to the owner. I've had my truck broke into and all my tools were marked. They took about 2k work or air conditioning tools and equipment. Never were found or returned. Nothing like having your hard earned things stolen!! STINKS!!
