Yes it's dark like coffee. I've heard good things about it, but when I did fish it the Crappie I caught were right at 10 inches or dinks. I only fished it once and it was extremely windy when I did. Maybe one of these days I will try it again. If you go let me know how you do. Thanks in advance.

I have heard good things about Coffee mill but have never been there. Is the lake ok for running a boat or are there stumps and trees everywhere?

Go there all the time. Some days are good, some days are BAD! Yes, the water is super stained, looks like Folgers dark roast. You can run the lake, there's a cove right after you launch to the right, its really short. Then once you go past that there's another arm that goes to the right, its much longer than the first one. There's a T_post sticking out of the water on the left side of that arm, more to the middle of the lake than it is to the bank. That's where someone put a bunch of brush or X-mas trees or something all around that. Then past that there's trees and stumps. Not sure if there are stumps everywhere or just the trees you can see. Theres a tree with a dead duck on it (was on it last time i went) That tree is LOADED with catfish for some reason. I think i caught 50 there with worms one time... Last time me and dad went there we didnt see much fish on the graph and we couldnt find them. SO if you go, good luck! Heard some good things about Davy Crockett which is right down the road from Coffeemill.
