Walked in to acadamy and spotted this guy! On sale plus a 10% discount becouse it was the floor model!

The only thing that conserns me is what do i do for a crate? A standard milk crate is to big!

Congrats on the new boat!! and kudos on getting the extra floor model discount!

As for a crate, do a search on here ... there is a guy in Houston that does custom crates for any yak. He uses a "PVC platform" that fits in the tankwell and provides a raised surface for attaching a standard sized crate. There are pics that should get you started. I had the same problem with my Scrambler, and this option is easy, cheap, and works great! I even adapted the design and built a "cradle" for a crate to attach to the back of my SINK.

Waders make a huge difference. I got mine at Academy. They had a pair of breathable waders for well under $100.

OMG Thats the second best looking YAK IVE EVER SEEN!!!rockon
Awesome color too!
Heard somewhere that yellow is the sexiest color out there.
loco but true!

Man I WISH I HAS ONE! grin

We use a real thin piece of plywood primed and painted
to stand up against the elements over the small cargo well.

Leave just enough room for your fish to fit in.
works!!! keeps your catch fresh when its cool! Put to many on a hot day and they die quick.
We put our crates on top of the plywood &
hook/strap/secure it to the yak.

Looks like your gonna need some handles. Academy has em. Make sure they have four holes not 2

I picked up a couple rods from Bob last weekend and love them.

ohhhh i see! Thanks that helps. Trying to figure out my crate situation. Id like to find something that will fit without building a stand. Also anyone have any input on a good seat for this kayak? Academy didn't have a lot to choose from and im not to thrilled about the one i bought. its a crazy creek sot kayak chair 2 and has the little bag on the back. It sits very low and the bag is completely hidden. Also bought a carlisle day tripper paddle.

Congrats, 1st boat I ever bought, didn't know if I would enjoy kayaking. That was many boats and years ago.

Loaned it to a good buddy to take to Alaska, he did a glacier fed river trip, 38 miles in 5 hours.!! Glad he was in that stable a boat and no other.
Kinda wished I'd never sold it.

I love to see the excitement in someone new to kayaking. I still get the feeling when I know I'm going out with a group of yakers. Be careful going out this time of year. If you title every changes fast. Just make sure you dress for if you are going to flip. Breathable waders are a big plus this time of year.
Let us know how you do....

Headed to weatherford lake Sunday morning! I don't know if it will be any good but I've heard the sand bass are hitting on jigs and minnows. Anyone fish that lake at all?
