Uncle Doye has been doing well since his surgery last week. The pathology report finally came back and the one tumor they originally went in for was cancerous; the other two were benign. He was finally able to poop today, which was a big relief (no pun intended). He had to have 10 units of blood transfused due to them nicking an artery, but his blood counts are all back to normal now...and he doesn't get cold anymore. He also had the drainage tube removed from his lung. He is having some difficulty breathing, although his oxygen saturation is good. Prayers would be appreciated. He will be in the hospital a full week come tomorrow morning and wants to go home.

Thank y'all. I forgot to mention, since the other two growths were benign, he doesn't have to undergo radiation, only chemotherapy.

Now he just has to get strong enough to undergo the chemo (there is about two weeks left in the 'ideal' window for him to start it since the lobe on the left lung was removed). Then, he'll have to have the abdominal aortic aneurysm dealt with.

We just got back from seeing Doye and he is in a lot of pain. They put the tube in higher this time and he cried out twice when they cut him according to my cousin. He is in a lot of pain because the tube is in so far and I guess hitting the lung. The nurse said if the pain pills didn't work they would be calling the doctor again. So it could be a long night. I just hope that tube doesn't puncture the lung or do other damage. There's no liquid coming out, but he's breathing better. They didn't show any fluid in the lungs when they did the x-ray, so they are thinking it may be just all air. He may have the tube out tomorrow. We'll see.
