With the water temps about 10 degrees warmer than normal this year could we have a early spawn on Lake Fork? Here's what I saw while pitchin a jig today, anyone want to take a guess where this was at? There was a big hawk on a stump near by this one,Mallard duck egg maybe?[image]

Uploaded with ImageShack.us[/image]Water temp was 52 degrees today.

The 10 day forcast has a lot of nights in the high 30s and low 40s, that ought to keep the temps down for a while longer.

There is no doubt there will be a earlier spawn this year then in the past. Three years ago we were pulling then off the beds on Feb 8th. on Fork. We also were catching crappie off the bank last week. It will be on time if not early thumb

Definitely some spawning going on right now in east texas, we caught some sight fish the past 2 days but it looks like the falling temps should back them off

Is that stump in little mustang near the trailers? If so I think that stump is where big girls like to spawn when the water is up.

Same story every year, early spawn on Fork. The truth is, they almost always spawn in Febraury and last til June. Nothing early or unusual about it.
