If those cats figure out a way to get him out of there it is all over. (not catfish but the stray cats that live under the barn)

I have had this perch for a week now in my live well and he is pretty cool looking. Just wondering what real fisherman would do this guy is a trooper living in my backyard in 10 degree weather! I've been feeding him worms...
Don't think it's anywhere near 10 degrees outside in Arlington...it's 43 in Las Colinas at the moment...that aside I'd definitely rig him through the back with a big circle hook and live bait him for a big blue/flathead/largemouth bass. Looks like a coppernose bluegill.

I left a perch in my livewell for over two weeks. We had a bad cold spell and the pipes under my house even broke, but that perch made it. Soon as I got to lake i let him go

i know my dad always is talkin about how the best fish he ever had for an aquarium was a bunch of perch. they were colorful and very active. I would look into either a kiddie pool and fill it up and start a small pond in it by giving him some friends, aka other baitfish that make it through the trip or just use him on a line some time. Another option if you have it available is that a lot of people will keep fish in cow troughs to keep the algae down. Mine at home is full of Bass Minnows, goldfish and something that looks like a tiny carp that hasnt grown in 2 years....lol its as big as a large bass minnow...lol

Let live and set him free on a 3 way rig, so he can swim around as much as he wants in a 18 in circle.

Release him to get eaten another day, or release him with a circle hook to get eaten and see what you reel in.
