I try to like this show but honestly it sucks. I liked it better when Pack and Dobyns were on there. Jason does a good job in front of the camera but all the corny ribbing gets old after the second episode. I also wish they would quit "Ikeing" every fish. Not every time you set the hook is it a big fish. They need to watch Brauer's Bass Battle and take notes from them.

I am not really sure why they called it the Big Bass Battle as I don't remember seeing a bass over 6 lbs caught and seems like most shows were won with a 4 or 5 lb fish.( I didn't see all the shows and maybe I missed an actual big bass battle)However, they always seemed to catch some nice sand bass and maybe they should have renamed it the Big Sand Bass Battle.Pretty bad when the top guns at Fork try to present this as a real fishing show on the best bass fishing lake in Texas.Maybe they need to move this to one of Bill Dances fishing spots.

But then again, I don't have my own fishing show called Big Bass Battle. I fish mainly on the weekend and I could easily produce a show called 4 or 5 lb fish caught by everyone on a sunday with some 6 or 7 lb. fish thrown in. Jr, you need to have your own fishing show as people would like to see you catch some of those big fish at Ivie.I would watch that show. You don't catch big fish every day but you may have to film more that one day a week to make a show that is worth watching.

I think it is just the format of the show- I thought it was great hearing Mr. Pack saying Mr. Gary was the Sasquatch in the commercials- I didn't expect to see a SAL caught on every episode- And I don't feel like those 6 or 7 lb fish thrown in are quite so plentiful- I know they weren't on the BIG BASS BATTLE anyway-

I wouldn't mind if the ONLY lake they fished was Fork. This is selfish, of course, because I live close enough to fish Fork fairly often and like learning how they attack the lake. It's cool to see spots that you have fished on tv. The smack talk is sad recently, they could do without it and just go fish. I also don't mind that they don't catch a dd every time out. Makes it a true fishing show in my opinion. The show with Pake was the best episode ever. Just sayin.

Yeah I hear you I knew what you were saying. I guess the premise of the show is biggest bass of the day not biggest bass in the lake.
You don't see many shows that hunt the biggest fish in the lake.

Pack made that show entertaining and you all right, its not the same without him on it. I wish all the guys that are currently on it all the best, but that was Packs show and it just not the same without him on it IMHO.

Very well said Brant.
Here is my opinion on the show.
It has taken it's course. And here's what I mean. Tom, Rick, and Justin are very good on the show and give alot of helpful info. But all the shows are basically on Fork and have the same format. Almost like re-run after re-run. LFT has a stable of great pro-staff guys all over the US and Texas. I dont understand why they dont branch out and go to other lakes with other LFT staffers and do shows.
But all in all, it is not the same without Packman and Gary on it. Agree with ya Chris!

Bring back PACK. That show sucks without him on it.
Pack and Tom Redington are much more inforative. Pack's sense of humor make's the show in my opinion.

I agree that the show sucks without Pack but there are just some people not smart enough to figure that out. I have quit watching it I could watch a show with Ike on it if I wanted to see someone acting like him.

Thanks Coach, That was my favorite too! I like the shows from Falcon. It would have been awesome if Robert had caught that 14.86 on the show though! That is just fishing. The day that Pake fished with Justin was just horrible conditions and they had a short day because the production crew had to catch a flight. They didn't catch many fish or any giants but it still turned out to be a good show in my opinion.

They're not really acting like Ike. I havn't seen any rod breaking, spitting on the fish, using language that would make hardcore rappers proud, or other antics yet. Surprised this post hasn't drawn the attention of one of they guys yet.

Yeah, that is what I was thinking. As long as the show is on my favorite Falcon Lake, argueably the best lake in the country, I watch it and enjoy it! Those guys are very good fishermen, not professional actors. On the other hand, I don't like watching City Limits Fishing with Ike or anyone else on that show for that matter! I guess "different strokes for different folks."

Got to admit the last one I saw on Falcon was pretty lame. Like someone else said film several days and edit it to some good fishing. Its bad enough that all these shows actually air about 10 minutes of fishing with 20 minutes of advertising, the least they could do is put together some footage of some good fish being caught in that 10 minutes and nix all the chit talking, and dinks. Its not just fishing, the hunting shows are just as bad.

+1. I like the ones with Mark Pack too, but Ronnie Kelley's damn funny! And seeing that young man Pake fish was a joy to watch. Would you rather watch that Extreme Angler guy Karl Kalonka or whatever his name is on WFN? Now that guy is unwatchable.

I think it's quite simply the worst fishing show I've ever watched. I'd rather watch the helicopter lure/banjo minnow infomercials over and over. Babe Winkleman Outdoors is worthy of an Espy compared to the Big Bass Battle. It's really hard to watch. In fact, I usually go take a leak while the show is on so I don't miss any commercials. Its just painful viewing.

One of the worst shows I ever saw. Should have called it "lake fork slot fish on an lft flutter spoon while faking smack talk battle".
I could go out every day for three hrs, weigh my biggest fish (prob not much knowing me) and call it big bass _______ but that would be a misnomer. That's what it seems like they do.

I have to agree, I watch fishing shows to try and learn a little something from great anglers. I am sure all of these guys ARE great anglers, just wish they would share a little more info on techniques and stop trying to be funny all the time. It also seems like they are always "getting a late start", really, you didn't plan a head knowing you were filming a fishing show.

You know I like to see lakes in Texas on the TV because I live in Texas and don't care to know or see about some lake up north that I'm never going to fish on. Yes it would be nice to see big fish cough out of Fork on Big Bass Battle after all I hear Fork is world famous. My two cents would be to fish lakes all over Texas Then go to other states where the show airs but I'd only watch shows on the Texas lakes anyways but that's just what I'd like to see.

I liked them with Pack leading the charge as well, heck I wish he would make his own show because that dude is fun to watch. I understand the format but I have to admit I have laughed at the title a few times. I know fishing is tough but I kinda expected more out of it on some of the episodes. Having said that I do record and watch every one of them The one on Falcon was by the best as far as fish go.

....Surprised this post hasn't drawn the attention of one of they guys yet. Hopefully they have seen the thread and read the posts and will make some adjustments for future shows. Like cancelling them. I know the guys are trying hard to make a good show..But its just not good and is in much need of the Packman to come back.
