Anyone around Irving that can replace a garage door spring?

Yep, when that thing busted I ran into the garage with my Kimber. It sounded like a cannon going off. I almost stained my jockey shorts. Had to look around for a while to find out what happened. I think I'll see if I can find someone around who can do it. Can't find a 32 inch spring anywhere.

They can be really dangerous unless you have the right tools to wind the spring and know what you are doing. I have seen a couple of accidents where someune has had their hand busted up pretty badly doing this.
If you don't have the experience or tools get a garage door installer to do the replacement.
Also I have seen where a spring breaks and is replaced and shortly thereafter the other breaks. You might consider replacing both and just pay once for the installation.

They are also color-coded to the weight of the door (how to measure springs) but as mentioned previously -

DON'T DO IT YOURSELF !

I don't know much about these guys other than my wife sends them business when folks come into the HD looking for a spring.

There was a neighbor that was trying to install one of these springs during Thanksgiving week end. It broke and knock him back to labor day! It has effected his whole family.

There are few things I will not attempt to fix at my house. This is one of them and this is why.

As mentioned, stay away. My old man tried to fix one, now he cant make a fist with his left hand. That spring is a bad mudda.

Yep leave the door spring to the professional. Ours busted not long ago, don't remember who cam rout though.
