for what I hope is a decent Sunday, maybe even Monday. Picking up a decent amount of gizzard shad from the bank at night after work. Hopefully I'll have something to show for it next outing. Have to justify all my tackle. Had to lay it all out in the living room to reorganize it after our move, and the wife saw EVERYTHING I have. She just stood there with her hands on her hips. Talk about uncomfortable silence. There was stuff out there I had forgotten I bought. And yes, she did ask, "is all that necessary?" "Most of this stuff I bought for you" I replied. Hope to have some pics for everyone next week.

My wife bought me a boat in '08 and a new '11 Hobie Kayak for Christmas because she knows that's what I love to do. I have a feeling it's largely in part that I support my wife 100% with all the activities she enjoys(triathlons). It's a give and take world. I'd sleep in my Diesel before motel 6 anyway. Anytime I get new gear if my wife isn't with me she's the first to see it when I get home. She's not excited to see it because it's new "fishing junk" she's excited because she knows I'm pumped about it. When I got married my grandfather pulled me aside and said "boy I'll tell you this. If momma ain't happy nobodys happy." Words I live by.

mmmmmmmmmmmm Caribou...Did you ask them to keep the lights on for him????
As for keeping shad...I found a neat trick... Requires Press and Seal, salt, garlic powder, and paper towles. dry shad as much as possible, lightly sprinkle with salt and garlic, wrap in paper towles, and seal between two sheets of press and seal, no vacuum sealer required. make sure u squeeze out as much of the air as possible. This will keep shad in good shape for weeks, I do have a vacuum sealer, but this is less expensive, and lots faster!!!
Don't forget your tooth brush...

All in good fun. My wife is a good ole'gal from the sticks. Her papaw was a fisherman and knows if it ain't in the trash then its gonna be fixed or I'm keeping it for spare parts. I did have alot of stuff laid out, but like Deer strangler's wife, she is supportive of my hobby. It's probably better than to have an enormous collection of Jack Daniels bottles. All in all, my wife is what Proverbs 30: 10 calls, "A capable wife..... Her value is far more than of corals." She jabs me about fishing in good fun. She was the one who bought me my last extreme speed reel for 100.00 so I can catch me some sand bass.
