Some of us girls maintain candy jars in our offices and lately they've been getting hit pretty hard by the night-time cleaning crews. I was thinking about getting a hidden camera to bust 'em. Where do you get one? Has anyone had any good experiences using it? Is it even legal?

Spy supply in Plano has all kinds. I don't know the legality tho. The guys at the store might.

P-Nut M&M's work best in those jars. Suck all the coating and chocolate off of them, then spit the nuts back in jar for the crew to much on.

They used to make them in ends of books placed on a shelf. A company I used to work for would use these now and then. They couldn't use them in court for any reason, but they can bring the employee in and show them the video. The employees will 99% of the time, pack up their belongings and leave with a company offer to quit, or press the issue and fight the tape. Companies have more money and better lawyers. So most of the time the caught employees will move on. In the case of contract workers, they can be let go on the spot.

It's just ridiculous that I even have to get one. I don't care if they take one or two pieces, but they've been cleaning out the whole jar on all of our desks. Like we wouldn't notice...

you should put a couple of grizturds into tootsie roll wrappers on the day you set the camera up.

we have this bucket thing on the counter full of (good) candy for customers and it would be damn near empty every morning, it was getting a little out of hand. one day the shop was about to be all locked up and i come around the corner and see one of our mechanics just shoving candy into his pockets and then takes another two handfuls and takes off out the back door. he didn't see me, so i went to walgreens bought a bag of candy, put it on his desk with a note that said - it's not that hard to buy your own. he stopped after that.

We have a night watchman at our place that received a week off without pay for cleaning out the fridge. People would bring in food, sodas etc. At night he would just go on a shopping spree.

Nowdays, there are one certain places in our building that you are not on camera.

Cocodrie is right. It may be an employee who is taking it home to their family. Whether it is the cleaning crew or a fellow employee, you are not supposed to provide them and their family with candy.

Good luck. I don't know about the cigarette lighter cams though. I know too many people who are lighter kleptomaniacs.
