I have the FS12T. I bought it last October without doing a lot of research and not really knowing anything about kayak fishing. It is my first kayak so I cant really compare but all in all I am happy with it. It does pretty much anything I want to do. The storage in the back is large and the front hatch holds a lot of gear. I added an anchor trolly system and a 6 inch hatch in the back. I have a graph as well but havent found the perfect way to mount it yet. It tracks pretty strait and allthough I cant really compare I feel like the speed is decent for a 12 ft yak. I can stand in it but not stand and fish. This is probably the biggest complaint I have. It is plenty stable sitting down but standing not so much. It does okay in the wind since it sits pretty low in the water. I think for the price it is a good buy. I'll probably upgrade next year but I would recommend it for a first yak to see if you like kayak fishing.

I have an FS12T along with two other yaks. Have paddled it in lakes, moving streams, shallow flats, and BTB. Overall, it's been a great kayak for me. The front rod holder is lousy, but it looks like BPS has replaced it with an improved model for this year's boats. I can stand in mine, but would probably not attempt to cast a rod or net while doing so. The Ascend feels quicker and is quieter through the water than my Kingfish. If Big Spring is near Houston, I just saw a classified ad at TKF for a yellow A12T with seat for $200. Same hull as the FS12T but without some bells and whistles....rod holders, front hatch, etc. Hope this is helful, drop me a line if you have any questions.

I have the FS12T and not bad for a beginner yak. I have a couple kayaks now but my Ascend is my go to yak. I have a crate, anchor trolley, FF, Scotty triple mount, and added an extra hatch in the rear. It is best in ponds and rivers. I use my Outback on the lakes only because it has a rudder and better in the wind. It is actuatly more stable than my Outback. One of my only complaints is the wind will fight you if you are going cross ways with it. It's not fast but not a slow kayak either and it tracks very good I think for a 12 footer. You can stand in it like fishinmachine said but cast and your going swimming. It is pretty easy to re-enter. I think it is a good buy for that price range. Sorry I dont have any recent pictures of it but here are a few experiences from it.

First outing.

First fish.

Second time out and first cast.

I would never have had this experience if not for my kayak.

I have paddled over a hundred miles this past year I'm sure. My ascend has changed my fishing forever and in a good way.

I've had an FS10 for three years and have not had any problems with it. It is my first yak, so I can't compare it to anything.

I have an fs12t. I bought one when they came out and the hull was weak and dented significantly while on the water, they replaced it and gave me a newer model free of charge. Good customer service! The new boat has a stronger hull. It's a good boat and it can get you on the fish while still being cost effective. I rigged mine with a scotty rod holder and use thier attachments for ff and rod holders. I would recomend it if you are on a budget, but if you can afford it I would go for a pelican elie, wilderness systems, or hobie kayak.

I just left BP and took a look at these. They apparently changed the material bacause the new one has a slightly different texture and look. It also now has a goodie hole with a lid right next to the cup holder.

I'm still leaning towards the pescador but it's only because of the extras on it... eyelets/bungie on the front, bigger scuppers, nicer seat... but it's very close!!
