can get a good deal on gen1 HDS 5, is it worth paying 300.00 more for the updated version?

You install It's easy. Mount at console run the wires to the trans and battery. Easiest way would be to tape new wires to old units wires and pull through to the battery compartment.

I got the gen 1 at Academy for 399. Then there is a 100 dollar rebate if bought before 2/12 which I did.
