Rip Rap on bridges. Especially the southern most bridge which is also the longest. The cove just west of the cove at campground boat ramp has deeper water and can be good. Main lake point directly northwest of boat ramp on other side of lake, can be killer if they are there. When water warms its reeds, reeds, then more reeds.

The lake has been over fished that past couple of years. There are still some nice fish out there. Carolina rig the drop offs, Texas rig the rocks and flats, crankbait the stumps, boat docks and trees.

Watch out for all the crappie fisherman under the bridge... Might have to jump the bridge to get to the other side. They stack up under the bridge all over the place in there.. When the reeds and the lily pads are in full force the bass fishing is pretty good. I caught a 6 pounder out there then abunch of smaller fish.

I agree with this... My first trip out there we were catching 15-20 fish in a half day but nearly every fish we caught had torn up jaws, rips, and multiple hook holes. I used a half bottle of please release me treating wounds on fish that weekend. Its a great little lake though, you can get out there and catch em several different ways... from docks, to pads, reeds, rocks, humps, and brush piles. Very diverse for such a small body of water IMO.

She`s a popular lake to say the least. I`ve noticed some of the regular clubs did not include Bonham this year which is a good thing IMO. The old girl needs a break. Fishing isn`t as consistent as it was just 3-4 years ago. Although, the numbers have declined the quality has not.
If you like to pitch/flip there are lots of reeds and docks to pick from. Points are also good at certain times, but it does lack in timber, so not much to choose from there.

Where are these 'pads' you speak of? I've only been out there twice & I've seen all of the above except pads...

The pads we fished were up past the bridge. As I understand it last year there were alot less pads than previous years... but last July there were still a couple of acres of em up in the skinny water.
