Hard to beat the old Ruger Single Six. There's another one for the entry level shooter that looks just like the old Colt Peacemaker that is made by "Plinkerton" for less than $200.

buy a ruger that has the interchangeable cylinders. they'll shoot 22 mag and 22 long or short.
Yep for sure. Ruger Single Six. Its not the cheapest of the revolvers (if your wanting to go cheap get a heritage, solid gun) Great gun to teach kids how to shoot
not the only option, but you cant go wrong with the ruger

call it what you will...he is not definitely not anywhere near the top of the list for QB's that I would choose needing a FG or touchdown drive late in the game.

For the price your going to pay for a Ruger Single Six you can get the Blackwawk in .357 mag. My son is 12 and shoots mine alot with low power 38's in it.

As stated in the original post: She doesn't care for a .357mag & .38 though.

Yea, it'll end up being her revolver when the time is right. Can't afford 2 Rugers though. For the price of one Ruger, I can buy three Heritage Arms revolvers.

If you want to get one to shoot with her you won't be disappointed with the heritage. Own 2 personally and sold 100s when i worked at academy and gander during college. Solid gun that will hold up for a long time. Just doesn't have the ruger name and the cheaper ones are fixed sights, but you won't be disappointed with it
Well can't speak much for modern production, bc mine are both over 5 years old, but i know we've put atleast 10k rounds through each. In the 4 years i sold guns i never had one returned for repairs that wasn't the customers fault (somehow managing to fire a 22lr in the 22 wmr cylinder, never cleaning the gun, etc.)

Get the little Rugar Bearcat SA 22. One of the really fun guns to shoot.

I got a "new model" but still older than me Ruger single six several Christmas ago, love it, shoot the mags till I run out then change over to the lr's. Pretty accurate too.

We have one of these. Its been around for a LONG time, my dad abused it as a kid and my brothers and I all started out with it. Great gun, and basically indestructible. I know its been used for a hammer a couple of times too. lol (unloaded of course)

I have these. Lr ($200) and mag ($220) from Academy. Fun as all get out!
Got the folding grip for the mag at the gun show. Took it off because it adds bulk to the the gun.
Mrs Chad took an old pair of camo suspenders I had and made them into a double holster with one of each on a cross draw. Y'know, in case I'm ever expecting a shootout with The Lollipop Guild...
For when she's ready to move up to a semi auto.
