What do ya'll recommend? Preferably something Academy carries, no CO2 cartridges, open sight, single pump, 600+ fps if there is such a thing for a single pumper. The momma squirrels milk sacks are dragging the ground here and you know what comes next.  Time to thin the herd again.

Gamo or Benjamin Sheridan single pump varity.  ^^^^ This, don't have any experience with a Benjamin Sheridan single pump but the Gamo is greatness.

i have this one, it's a couple years old, it's alright. it makes a lot of noise and doesn't seem very smooth when it fires, kinda like that "kaaphhuuummmppp" vibrating feeling like a daisy red rider, which i guess is the spring. link

Gamo Whisper, not the fastest (1250 fps in a .177) but the most quiet.

My Gamo is an older model that shoots .177 ammo at 1000 fps. I also really like the new polymer tipped pellets. It will hammer a squirrel. Killed two this week.

That's the same one I had Derek. I loved that gun. Dad would not buy it for me until I could pump it five times. I looked forward to trying to make it when Christmas season rolled around. Finally, it was their on Christmas morning. Man, I roamed the woods around our house so many hours with that thing.
I just oiled up my Mendoza .22 pellet gun and fired it three times at a target. It sounds like a .22 short...or louder. Standard lead pellet goes about three fourths the way thru one inch plywood.
Gonna have to sight it in at the farm. Too much noise here. Neighbors will call the po-po for certain.

My Gamo is an older model that shoots .177 ammo at 1000 fps. I also really like the new polymer tipped pellets. It will hammer a squirrel. Killed two this week. Don't get caught killing squirrels with a pellet gun. Depending on your location, squirrel season may be closed. Fishing & Hunting Regulations •Licenses •Fishing •Hunting Means and Methods Firearms Game animals and game birds may be hunted with any legal firearm, EXCEPT: •white-tailed deer, mule deer, desert bighorn sheep, and pronghorn antelope may NOT be hunted with rimfire ammunition of any caliber. •shotguns are the only legal firearm that may be used to hunt Eastern turkey during the spring Eastern turkey season (see County Listing). Rifles and handguns may not be used to hunt Eastern turkey. •pellet guns and other air guns are NOT LEGAL. •fully automatic firearms are NOT LEGAL. •firearms equipped with silencers or sound-suppressing devices are NOT LEGAL. •a shotgun is the only legal firearm for hunting migratory game birds (see Definitions - Legal Shotgun). Well-well Mr. Stickler, if they are gnawing on my house, chewing electrical wiring, stealing items off the porch, and have populated beyond control, we'll continue to declare war on the lil rat basstages.  Tarrant County = Squirrel - No closed season. No bag limit.

Just FYI, ya'll are grown folks, do what ever you think you are big enough to do. TPWD made the law, and you are obligated to abide by it. Get caught breaking it and you could end up paying a fine and restitution to The State of Texas.
