I use Abu 6600's and 6500 and will probably never change but was wondering what yall prefer. Some of my buds use quality spinning reels and can match me in distance. For longest cast what's your go to reel?

Abu 6500!!!With a little tweaking you can easily out cast a spinning reel.

I put a whole spool of 30 lb braid on my 6500, I think it's 300 yds but not for sure, it's at least 200. Drag can be set to 15 lbs I believe not sure of resistance. I can easily cast 60 to 80 yards, could cast further if I put say a 3 oz weight on. I don't like useing 3's. Usually use 2's and even 1's if possible.

Both Dustin and Jim can cast ridiculously great lengths. It would be a good competition.

Both Dustin and bankfisher can cast ridiculously great lengths. It would be a good competition. fixed it for ya heck, the bait launcher contraption is for me. i don't need to compete - fill it up to 90psi and let her rip! punch balloons are fun to get it out there too (300+ yards) i'm in!

I can't cast a big spinning reel to save my life. So I like bait casters. I can cast smaller spinning gear well, but once I get into the 60 size, I just can't.

I got a few questions. Is she in a lake on that thing? Is this catfishing with a fly fishing rod? Is she single? If shes in saltwater, imagine fishing on one of those and catching say a sword fish or a tarpan lol what a ride that'll be!

If shes in saltwater, imagine fishing on one of those and catching say a sword fish or a tarpan lol what a ride that'll be! a)That is the Pacific Ocean. b)No. But channel cats are very fun on a fly rod. They hit flys on top of the water like crazy. c)She is married. d)No different than the ride you get from catching any big fighting fish in a kayak or a SUP either one. We don't call hooking up to a bull red in a kayak a Texas Sliegh ride for no reason.
