Well since Lewisville water clarity is like chocolate milk and I have had no luck on Lewisville the past couple weeks gonna go try Grapevine today. I am going to be in a boat and am not fishing anyones docks or boathouse. I Dont want any GPS coordinates just a little guidance / general areas and depths that seem to be working out on the Vine if anyone has had any luck out there. PM me and thanks in advance.

I have never fished for Crappie on the Vine but know the lake pretty good. WOW I just hit 700 posts after almost 8 years!

I've never fished the lake itself for crappie, but I do know Marshall creek feeding into grapevine is just about chocolate milk too. Hope fully thinks start to settle down and the water clarity starts getting better.

You might try Brushpiles in 25-35' and some ledges in that same depth. Also might want to try some points in that depth. Good luck!

I fished Scott's Landing yesterday. Chocolate milk big time. Couldn't buy a bite. It wasn't chocolaty like that Saturday. I'd try the deep points. Plent of then now that the water is up.

In my experience, Grapevine historically has not been a lake that fishes exceptionally deep (25+'), so I would suggest that if the surface temp is above 50, I would fish all the brush I could find from 10 - 25'. As for the very dirty water; the fish have to eat regardless of water clairty, and you really have no idea how deep the mud goes in a given area of the lake (and yes, it will all end up on the bottom at some point), so fish the darker colors you have, fish them ultra slow (dead stik), and make them stink, because while crappie are a sight feeding fish, if that sensory is taken away, they will go next to smell. If they can't find your bait, you might as well be home "honey-doin". Hope this helps and good luck.

Be careful on Grapevine. I fished it Thursday morning and saw a lot of floating debris and some rather large trees and logs drifting out in the main lake area. Water was really muddy once you got north of the Twin Coves area. With the flood gates open, I doubt the bite will be anything to write home about. We didn't catch any crappie, but one of my customers landed this nice blue cat. Good luck and be safe out there.

Well most of the boat ramps are closed due to high water! Usually use the murvall park ramp thats free but both of them were closed and the lady at the gate said twin coves ramp was closed also. Went to silver lake marina and paid $10 to use that ramp which is still open. Tried to find some brush piles with no luck. Marked some fish on main lake point just outside twin coves and soaked some minnows there with no luck. Lake is pretty muddy almost as bad as Lewisville. Did see some large floatin logs so be careful if u go. Water temp was 51 on main lake to 54 in the back twin coves. Did not see Guy's reply so did not try his advice. Gave up on the crappie and flipped a black blue bass jig the rest of the day and caught 2 bass largest 3 pounds. With the water up there sure is alot of good lookin brush along the shore in most coves. Should be good for the crappie and then the bass spawn if the water stays up. Looked kinda like lake Falcon!

Katie woods has a high water launch ramp and it is only $5 ,I will not give silver lake any of my business ,+3 feet would not shut down most of the grapevine ramps, don't know why they are closed.

Will have to keep the Katy Woods ramp in mind for next trip. The ramp at silver lake is not that great and had to have the back tires of my truck in the lake to launch. Not worth $10. Hopefully this Grapevine and Lewisville clear up before my next days off.
