Fished with Fishboy Frank and crew yesterday and had another one of those "One of the best days I've ever had" again banana It was a trip right on up there with the best of them. We literally had the 120qt cooler full in 1 hour of fishing, but the fishing stayed that way until we flat just left them alone about 4pm. The number of fish we caught would sound like a lie.

Even got to move around a few time looking for bigguns. I hit my #1 big fish spot and it did not dissapoint. Lost one of the biggest striper I have ever seen on Twok close to the boat. About 10 minutes later caught this almost 14# Beast Hybrid banana Might shoulda taken this guy to town. My spring scales weigh light. I checked them when I got home and a 10 pound weight showed just under nine.....wow! By any rate, it is the biggest hybrid I've had in my new boat.

I still have a bunch of weekdays to fill and will run the party boat economy trip every Wednesday in the month of February. Call me at 214-415-0166. Thanks, Matt!

For a true fisherman words cannot fully or truly describe this day with Matt. I've never caught this many fish in the ocean! From the opening bell to the closing bell we caught fish. Aaron, Brian, Herman and I had the trip of a lifetime. Being the day before the full moon this is what I was hoping would happen and the fish and Matt did not disappoint. Brian and I were talking how sore our arms were but it was a good sore. I'm telling you Matt will try and fish until he's put you on the last fish in the lake! Matt I also have to share my new little trick came up with. Brian and I did it all day and it was working. It hit me to "tap" the rod a few times every 30- seconds or so. Man it worked. It was like it irritated them into biting. Also got to have a nice chat in the morning with Joe Read. Was nice to finally meet Joe after all these years of hearing about a legend of a guide. I've fished a lot of places and lakes and oceans and streams and this trip is in my top three "Hall of Fame" trips. Matt many thanks for the hard work and great day. Will never forget it. Happy Fishing.

P.S. I was shooting to be humble and try and catch the smallest fish of the day. I think Aaron and I may have tied! After catching monsters all day Aaron and I caught a couple smaller hybrids and Aaron said, "Minnow..." We literally had to have thrown back over (150) sandies, hybrids and stripers. Just amazing.

When a thought hits I run with it. Contacted Ray Sasser of the Dallas Morning News after our last trip with Matt. Just hit me so I sent a note to the Southwest Outdoors people. There's a note on their homepage page that they are on a break and picking back up in March. Never know Matt- if they call I get 1/2 price on my next trip! LOL...

You can't compete with guide experience. I was out there, saw they had left before us on the water... Went to the deep humps across from holiday near the timber, saw a few fish schools on the scanner... got nothing but 2 catfish.

I saw them down the way coming back to the marina, but i'm not going to crowd a guide. Just seems rude.. Now its just a matter of booking a trip and learning this "art" I have yet to master...

Very nice fish...

Had another Holy Cow kinda day. 5 man Limit in a little over an hour of hybrid and striper. Threw back all fish over 10#s today and there were quite a few. Another one of those "Best Day I've Ever had" trips. Unreal! Caught fish non-stop from 8:30am to 2:30pm when we came in. Lost my clicker yesterday, kinda wish I had it today, but the number would sound like a lie, so maybe I'm glad we didn't count. I've never seen it as good as it is this year. I don't even know what to say. And its not just me. Joe Read and Jimmy Smith are murdering them just the same. What a kickoff for 2012!

Forest with his 1st Striper ever. 17 Pounds!!! He is addicted now!

Ed with a 13lb 12oz Striper

Justin with a 10.6# hybrid (got it on video, trying to download)

Fishing was strong today woot Fished with "the Englishmen" today that had the deer pic swimming. I'll try to get that up later. Had another Striper that went 17 1/2 - 18 pounds on my scale. We actually had another fish on that went almost 11# and I sat my rod down to net the fish and my rod went screaming down the boat. I grabbed it and handed it to Marcus and it turned out to be another Beast! Another four fish over 10# all cath and release today and over 100 caught. I dont even know what to say. I'm flabergasted.... Twok is on fire de

Me and Marcus'sBiggun woot

Some more bigguns

Had a fun day with Seapro Todd, Pastor Peter, Filetmaker, and VIP today. Too rough to fish where I have been fishing, but we scratched out some good ones. No monsters, just monsoon winds.... Caught somewhere between 100 and a 1000 grin Clicked up 68 pretty early, changed spots and then they really started biting. Forgot all about counting and focussed on not falling overboard in all the whitecaps. It got wild with doubles, triples and quadruples for a couple hours. I'm wore out. Weather looks nasty this weekend. Glad I'll be off. Taking my son and his buds to Shennanigans for his birthday tomorrow. good luck if ya head out. Supposed to be kinda nasty the next few days.

Pat aka FiletMaker

Austin aka VIP

What a day we had on the water today! It starting of with drizzle and no wind and ending up with Gail force winds, rogue waves and lots of crazy windy hair dos.

The winds, although strong, weren't near as strong as Matt's skills in keeping us on fish ALL DAY!! Your not going to believe this but he set us up on a 3.5 hour, fish catching drift that I wouldn't have believed if I hadn't been there. We drifted and drifted and drifted, what seemed to be from one end of the lake to the other. And we caught nice big hybrids, striper and sand bass the ENTIRE time.

What a great day, with great friends! Thanks Matt, you are THE BEST! Thank you for the sammies again Todd! It was nice meeting your pastor today - next time tell him to feel free to speak! LOL! Pat it was a pleasure fishing with you and getting to know you! I hope to do it again very soon! Keep me posted about your upcoming slip at RH!

Boys and girls - if you want a fishing expietence you'll never forget, give Matt at call and book a trip!

This is getting rediculous. I am speechless. Today was another day of insanity. We had number better than Friday with SeaPro Todd, but today we did not catch many sand bass. It was nearly all hybrid and striper.

Todd thanks for sharing. I didn't know about this article. I feel good. Wrote in a post last week that the last time winter fishing was this good was about four years ago and Matt conformed in his article! This is some good press.... Kudos to Matt!

OH my how time flies...
Acutally Matt and Frank, I still remember that last great winter and have pics to proove it. Matt took an allstar team consisting of JD, JV, and SuperDuck. We were fising/catching next to them. The date (2/16/2009) is on the pic. So that makes it only three years ago and not four. lol

This was taken from my old cheapo phone...lol

Todd only you would have proof! I checked my log and I think we are all correct on this one! I was counting in 2012 which is only a couple months old. I caught them that year out from the Heath Boat ramp humps and in between Chandler's and Robertson Park in the deeper water in both places. My brother and I would go and limit out almost every outing.... Birds worked all winter. Just think we probably saw each other and didn't know each other. Glad that has changed... Great group of people on the Forum for sure... Plus now a bunch of us are charter members in Matt's fish whisperer club so we are now master fisherman!

Today started windy, then calmed down and got rainy. Both time periods were cold. Managed to stay dry except for our hands. Caught well over 100 today and came in when we couldn't feel our fingers anymore rolfmao Great to fish with ya'll! Anson and cousin Josh caught some Twok bruisers today. I will say, I have fished more miserable weather, but this was one that will stick in my mind for quite some time. Thanks for being troopers guys!

Thank you Matt for an awesome day on the lake. I am a avid Hybrid fisherman and what you did to me today only fueled my addiction. The is one of the best fishing trips I have been on. My cousin Josh has never really cared to fish and this was only his third time to ever be on a lake and fish. It is safe to say that after he got into the double digit weights fishing the hybrids he was hooked!
When the forearms start cramping as they were today you know you got into some hard fighting fish. Any ways from my cousin and I, thanks Matt for the incredible fishing.

I was lucky enough to be one of only 4 boats on the water this morning. There were only 2 yesterday and the day before fishing that I saw anyway....Man, one day last week was crowded, there must have been almost ten boats out! grin Oh well, in April and May when its crowded every weekend like every year since 1990 it'll probably all be my fault hammer Had a great day today with buddy, Jeff! Biggest of the day was a little over 12#. All released today. Jimmy Smith had one about 16#! flehan

Had a blast Sunday Matt, plain stupid crazy fishing... both size and numbers. I know my dad and brother will be talking about it for awhile...and thanks for all the info yesterday, fished that afternoon till dark it was continuous lip ripping on that poor school of stripers... definitely will be back. Awesome guy, awesome guide.

Hey Matt, thank you for the help this morning, we were on the red Skeeter. You know, it sure was cool watching you guys pull them up so quickly. That first spot didn't work well for us, only caught about 3 there. But on the other side with the birds, it went nuts. After you guys left the birds, they regrouped and we spent the rest of the day there. I ended up pulling a 30" 15.4 lb striper out, my brother did a 11.7 lb. We switched from flukes to a 1 oz white and chart. road runner with a chart grub and they were really going after them. The hybrids were super fat and the smallest was 6 lbs.

Again, thank you very much for the help and tips, you didn't have to and you gladly did.

It was great to meet you out there today! We actually started throwing 6" sassy shad later, what a hoot woot I'm glad ya'll got some bigguns!

We left the birds and fish biting. Had to be in by 2, but arms were sore anyway rolfmao On the way in we saw two more groups of birds working and not a boat on them. I never saw more than a couple boats at one time all day. That'll all change in the next month or two. Guess I'd better turn in. Tomorrow looks like another balmy fish frenzy day grin

I don't think I have ever seen that many birds on a lake. At one point we were completely surrounded and spotted two other areas full of them with no one around. They got really busy in the stumps also. Best fishing day for us to date.

Now that reminds me of a variation on an old story. A teacher held a glass up containing some water in front of her class. She asked the children, "So is the glass half full or half empty? Little Matt raised his hand and asked, "So how big is that glass!" The lake is always more than half full for you Matt. Plus the boat is filled with fish... Keep the streak alive. The Lord is blessing you big time brother!

Thanks Frank, He really has!

Another great day. 8 fish over 10 pounds today. Steve caught a 15.25# and Jake aka "Worm on a Hook" had a 13.5# Stripe. All big mama's released live and well. Saw 2 other boats on the water today. They were throwing them back as well.

Worm here. It was a blast! Really? At boat ramp and it poured. Steve, sam, Ed and i watched a couple of lightning bolt as on guy scrammbled off the lake. Went out and they caught six nice fish. BOOM!. Matt brought us back for safety. 45min later went out and it was slow! For 39 min. We only had Matt with a nice pickle. ( 4lbs). Then Matt saw something...... After that it was on! After that we caught fish! Only maybe 25 sandbass all day. We got triple numbers of what we all wanted.

The fishing was on! I felt like I knew Steve, Sam and Ed all my life. I have never caught that many nice fish. Steve got a monster that gave a show. We all stopped and cheered him on. I made new friends and gay a 13.5 ld. Striper.

The guys I fished with today were a great bunch of guys. I felt like i knew them forever. Matt runs a first rate guide, service. Until u fish with him u have no clue what happiness is.

Thank u Matt and God bless uq

Sammy Ellerd here. I was Blessed to have been with Matt yesterday. I have been fishing Stripers and Hybirds for over 40 years but have never experienced a better day then yesterday.
Thank you Matt for a Great Day.
Enjoyed fishing with Steve, Ed, and Worm too.
Matt encouraged us to release all over 10 and we did.
People that post and read on this website need to realise that the guides on this lake are planning to be here for many years.
We not only released everything over 10, we also released lots of 7,8,and 9 pounders.
More then once yesterday Matt explained to us that these fish were so healthy that you get almost as much meat off a 5-6 pounder as you do the bigger ones.
I look forward to fishing with you again soon.
Sammy Ellerd

The last couple mornings started off slow, but good?? grin Fish are turning on later in the day and we are actually catching them chunking and winding! Big fish are starting to mix up with sand bass, hybrid, and whites. It's a box of chocolates now, no telling what you will reel in next smile

Here is Marcus Banner aka ReelCrazy on Tff with a 16.25# Striper. You might remember him kicking off the big fish bonanza with a 13.5# hybrid he caught with me a month or so ago. Just like the true sportsman he is, Marcus insisted on releasing this 16 pounder too, his personal best striper flehan

Tawakoni is about an hour East of downtown Dallas. We have been using nothing but Superflukes and Assassins on a 1oz head for about two months in various shades of chartruese and shad patterns. This week they are starting to hit banana colored sassy shad and glo CocaMoe's from www.moestackleshop.com

Matt I was kidding the other day in another post I think that like that old song goes, "And the beat goes on...." Someone in the Forum needs to archive this thread in the Fishing Hall of Fame. Every time I check back here it's like deja-vu all over again. And to think we started it all Aaron, Brian and Herman! Not sure how long a thread can go on but I for one will be sad to see this one end... What a run Matt! Happy Fishing...
