Anyone else have a job that requires large changes in schedule?
I normally work mornings.
Tomorrow evening, I start nights (1730 - 2330).
I am ready for bed now...but if I go now I will be awake tomorrow AM right on schedule. At 5:45 I will be fully awake.
Anyone have any good tricks for staying up to change schedule?
I used to just head out to the t$#@@* bars and that worked fine. Now that would just remind me of what I can't have. That's more depression than I need right now.

Yep. Most days I go in at 11:45a and work until 7. Once every two weeks, i'll cover City Council (7:30 a.m. until I finish up writing at about 5-7). On rare occasions, i'll do morning news or host the morning show, which is about 4:30 a.m. until 9.
I'm not a morning person, but i'm fortunate in that I can get by on only a little sleep, as long as it's not weeks in a row.

Yep, this is for a full week. Working our D periods.
And God help me, both of these guys are single seat fighter jocks, which means I have my hands full. This is gonna be one tough week.

I hate weeks where you just wind up full of dread. The past two weeks have been this way for me, with the end of the quarter and finals rapidly approaching. Only really good part is, the weekend is going to feel that much sweeter, I guess.

PH, I find that now that I'm off caffeine, drinking some will keep me bright eyed and bushy tailed when I need to stay up. Also, some antihistamines will help you stay awake when you need to (and when you don't (dang you, liquid Benedryl)). With the health issues my family has had lately, I have had to drink some caffeine lately. Also, eating will help keep you awake.

Working the Euro shift at the Forex brokerage was the longest 8 weeks of my life. I worked graveyard before in a lumberyard, but I was on my feet all night, on the move. Sitting for 10 hours by myself in front of a computer doing boring projects was more than I could take.

I don't drink cokes anymore, but tobacco does help me to stay up. This super menthol nasal snuff can keep me working for hours.

I don't have to deal with everyone up my hind end all day and can kick back unless something goes down. We're supposed to leave the TV's on the news but we hardly ever do since no one is around.
