I look'in into purchasing an EBL and was researching the Net for info.
Came across a fella in MO. who's a small company start up business. The name of his product is "All Aboard Boarding Ladder". I spoke with him on the phone this evening and he said he has sold several of his ladders to folks in Texas.
Would appreciate hearing from anyone who has one or knows someone who does.

Does anybody know of one for folks who don't have a jackplate? It looks like the Basscat one mounts to the jackplate. And also it's $215, which is way out of the question.

I have heard of people making one out of a good piece of rope and tying knots in it to grip it. Or using a rope ladder.
