I like to keep mine trimmed down. But I have an office job too. Not sure they would keep me employed looking like Grizzly Adams.

Trim and shave the neck. Too itchy if you don't.

I ran clear across Alabama. For no particular reason I just kept on going. I ran clear to the ocean. And when I got there, I figured, since I'd gone this far, I might as well turn around, just keep on going. That was about a year before I cleaned up. Looking for pictures. That's what my old company gets for signing me to a 3 year contract where I know I'm going to get laid off at the end but am not going to get fired during the contract. smile

I've been growing a goatee for about 5 months. Just had to trim last week for the first time. My facial hairs grows at an alarmingly slow pace.

I always grow a beard in October and then shave after hunting season. I have to keep it trimmed ... especially the mustache. I can get a good start on a beard in a week

I've had a beard for 40 yrs.
I keep it trimmed because it is mostly white now. I have done the grizzly look before and everything in between.
I cut it off in 1983 for 2 months. I was leaving Calif and coming to Texas for a job and couldn't have a beard. I went in the bathroom and SSS. When I came out my 4 year old daughter saw me, screamed and jumped in her mothers lap. She told her to get that strange man out of the house.

i've had a beard for 38 years, but I keep it trimmed & it drives me nuts if when it scratches my neck so I shave from my neck to about inch from jawline

Last year it was a work bet to go 9 months without shaving for beer and 100 bucks, this years im just freely doing it because I can get away with it. I think ill cut it down come march when I start looking for a better job, till then fear the beard and cheap booze!

Beard, neatly trimmed from Dec - March. Neatly trimmed Goatee rest of the year. Same pattern for the last, oh, 8-10 years.

beard. between 3 and 4 inches long. trim it just enough to get rid of the random, extra-long hair here and there. it started off with being too lazy to get up and shave everyday, but my wife liked it so it never left. work is not a problem since i've always worked outside.

do you really want to know? okay, you asked for it.

i'll give you an example. i had not heard of it until about 4 years ago when i worked with a couple of guys who just thought they were awesome God's gift to women. think snl night at the roxbury kind of guys.
one guy shaved his chest and shorthairs down there.
the other guy shaved chest, legs, and made creative little designs with his shorthairs down there.
creepy, i know.

Creepy? No woman or EMS crew (should something tragic happen) wants to see a thimble in a clown wig. Designs? That's just wrong.
