How many of you in the workforce have to pay for your expenses and then submit an expense report or receipts for reimbursement versus being given a company credit card to use for business?

Reimburse, then I double down and use it as tax write offs.

My card. Expense report. Reimburse.

2 company cards, a MasterCard and an AMEX. I spend WAY too much to even think about the reimbursement method. All of the purchases that are made for our SA office go on my cards.

I have a company Amex, but we're limited to what we can use it for. The project I'm working on, I can only use it for pre approved things by my supervisor. I am recieving a flat per deim rate, so I'm limited to what I can get reimbursed for (parking, gas, flights, and hotels are about the extent of it.) THose, I have to pay out of pocket then get reimbursed.

I use my card and get reimbursed. I'd rather get the rewards from the CC than have my company receive them. I spend about $75k/yr for the company and that can have its nice little perks.

I worked for the Texas AG for a while. I tried the reimbursement thing for a while. Ultimately went with the Amex card. Both ways were a beating though. We had to travel a lot. Reimbursement usually took 6 weeks. In that time I'd typically put in 3 or 4 other out of town trips. All of them paid out of my pocket. It was like slowly digging a deep well. The longer you were there and the more you traveled the deeper the hole got.
I finally had enough of it and went back to work for a real LE agency.

Have company card that gets paid directly after filing my expenses. But the company card is in my name and on my credit record.

My company has enough red tape that I had to sign up for a corporate AMEX card only to find out that I have to pay the bill for the card and still submit an expense report to get paid back. It's the dumbest system I could possibly imagine.

Just got the company card about 2 months ago. Too much red tape. I would rather go back to the reimbursement.

ALWAYS make them pay your way. Trust me. That is the way I see it. As an employer, I do not want my employees stressed out about if they have enough money to "cover" it until the company pays them back. Some of our trips costs thousands of dollars. I have always provided company cards. I am not understanding the red tape you people have to go through with a company card. My employees just rack up expenses and hand over the receipts to the bookeeper and they are finished. i was thinking about going to the reimburse thing but I do not think I will now.

I did for 5 years and hated it. I don't like putting my money up first at all. I complained until I finally got a company credit card. Life is grand now.
The problem with me, I would run up $7,000-$8,000 a month (still do) and we were reimbursed at the end of the month. Why should I be on the hook for 30 days. Didn't care for it at all.

Company Visa now. Using your own card blows. Real bad if you have significant monthly expenses.

Reimburse, then I double down and use it as tax write offs. If true, that's illegal, and you probably shouldn't advertise it on the internet. Anyway, I have the company card that is in my name (Basically it means there's no limit.). I still submit the expense report, and they reimburse me, and I pay the bill when it comes. I can get points with the company card. The cool thing is there's two months to pay the bill without any interest. If I leave, they get the card back with a confirmation of zero balance from CC company.

From what I understand, they won't report on your credit, unless you signed the application for the card. I didn't sign anything on either of my co. cards, and from all the research I have done, there should be nothing on my credit report, either good or bad, from these cards.

Never thought about it. For the past 15 years we had to pay our own way and submit a expense report. For the past two years we are all on a Corp Credit Card.
I just ran my credit report and nothing on there from the company card, guess it does not show. I know many people that would rather spend their own money, but know that I've had to do it both ways, I'd rather use the Company Card.
