Right there with you JDB. Not sure how he does it, but he does it. He just made the HOF.

I think Eli will be up there but I hesitate to compare him ahead of his brother. He'll get in the conversation about the best quarterbacks of this century.
Brady, Eli and Peyton all are in elite status. Rogers and Brees too. Please please don't bother bringing up the local talent. "This Century"? That's being presumptuous. It is early in this century, and Eli does not have the regular season stats that other QBs of this century have. Would I take Eli over Romo? Still not sure because Eli would not have the same success in Dallas as in NY. I think the Cowboys' failures are more about the orginization and less about Romo's failures. That said, Eli is a HOF player for sure after this win.

That said, Eli is a HOF player for sure after this win. I used this century because this thread is about recent quarterbacks and somehow I read it as a slight to Peyton because Eli has more rings than his brother. I enlarged the thread to include some of the more recognizable quarterbacks in his era. Romo is not going to get into the conversation because to me how a quarterback performs in the important games is a major part of what a good quarterback is. If I were in fantasy football I could see your point but if the goal of a football team is to win the championship I knock Romo down because of how he has performed in season ending performances. You will notice that this year Eli has not been in the top 5 or 6 in regular season stats. Maybe not in the top 10, I don't know. But how he performed at the end of the season puts him up there with the Brady's, Peyton's, Roger's and Bree's. I could include a couple others that I would have on my team rather than this local talent and quit hiding about the team he plays for. The Cowboys quarterback has not played like a top tier quarterback at the end of too many seasons for anyone to give him a pass up to elite status.

Brad, could we impose upon you to draw a map for Romo and his sidekick, MM denoting the proper route to the end zone?

Peyton has the stats, Eli has the rings. To me I think Eli is WAY underarted. I was guilty of it myself. Manningham will get all the crredit for that 4th quarter catch but Eli threw a rope right there.

ELi has had the good fortune of a very solid defense for most of his NFL career, something Peyton can't say. The ultimate team game.

Brad, could we impose upon you to draw a map for Romo and his sidekick, MM denoting the proper route to the end zone? Funny you should ask. I've had the Cray working on that all day based on next years SB in NO. Here's the preliminary. Any similarity to the perfectly predicted path of Hurricane Katrina is purely coincidental and does not represent the opinions of myself, my station, my twitter account, my facebook or my sponsors.

I am not gonna make excuses for Paeyton. While he is a Hall Of Fame QB you cannot honestly say this Giants defense was good by any stretch. Eli got them to the Super Bowl and he carried this team more than most will give him credit for. He ain't flashy, he ain't cool, he just wins and is clutch when it counts.

Eli has a total team around him 2 very, very good wr's,O line, 2 pretty darn good rb's and a solid defense. Not taking anything away from Eli cause he throws a nice ball, when Peyton won his he had the samething.

Eli definitely put the team on his shoulders this season. Making good things happen when the pressure is at it's highest is what separates the legends from the has-beens.

I have no problem with Eli being a HOF QB. Romo is nowhere near Eli's status. But, they play on different teams with different owners. If Romo were on the Giants, he may be in Eli's shoes. Maybe not; we'll never know. But, this century is very young and to say Eli is among the top of it is premature. of the past two decades? Fine you can go with that.
