Is there any way to get a broken drill bit out of the water pick up hole on lower unit? Had some wood in there and was using bit to get it out. Did not have the bit in the drill using it by hand it got caught on the wood and while trying to get it out it broke off. I assume you can pull the lower unit and get it out but don't want to do that besides don't have time. If there is no quick easy fix guess i'll just use my gps for speed indication.

...you broke the bit by hand?

Note to self, never shake crankbait 1's hand!

that's the only way to get it!!!!

and yes, you still gotta be carefull with those little bits. they break easy. been there and done that.

and btw. those bits will rust! may take awhile, but once they do. you might be able to break it up easier to get it out.

Hey Tommy Yetts here are the numbers off of the motor Model V200TLRX Serial# 66XL001149. Question? is the speedo tube independent to itself? It looks like it is i traced the tube back to he inside of the motor and it went straight thru but i do not know if it's tied to anything in the lower unit. I assume it's farily simply to change out i change my own water pumps and other maintiance items. If the tube insert on my motor is replaceable can you tell me where to get one. Thank you and Steve for the information it's greatly appreciated!

There is nothing you can do about it on a Yamaha. Like Steve said it will eventually rust and make break up.

It is just a hollow cavity on my Merc. I'd let it lie...it won't go anywhere.
