I throw that size DD cranks on a Dobyns 805CBRM and it does great. I have never thrown that heavy of line with it though but from what I have heard/read you are on the right track with it down there.

I was hoping to get by with my 7'2 MH cumara but it looks like everyone is geared towards the 7'6 plus. Appreciate the advice even though it looks like I might dropping some more cash!

I am building one for a guy that's heading down there soon. CB907 7'6 hvy-moderate fast action is what we decided on. I have also built some 8'0 rods

get yourself a 7 footer or longer with a moderate action.....I wouldnt go too heavy. You will just rip hooks out. All of the above rods are good and here are a few more for consideration.

BuCoo Cast Rod 7'6" Medium

BCC-4-176. Buzzbaits, crankbaits and spinnerbaits all fish well with this rod.

Duckett Micro Split Grip Cranking Rod 7'11" Med

Micro Magic Cast E

DFMM711M-CC-B. Suggested Use: 16ft+ deep running crankbaits.

PT Paragon Crank Cast Rod 7'3" Fiberglass
