So my son and I went to Squaw Creek yesterday. It was really slow. I ended up catching a 3 lb'er and he caught a catfish on a crankbait. Around noon, we to the cove directly across from the boat ramp to take a break from battleing the wind.

This is were it gets funny/interesting. I mentioned to him "that stump looks like an alligator" and we chuckled. It looked like two stumps, one stump about 6" wide or so and the other maybe about 2" wide, both about 6" wide and just above the surface. The "stumps" were about 75-100 yds away. I mention to him "that would be freaky if that was an alligator" and about 5 seconds after I said that, I watched the "stumps" slowly submerge. I looked at him and said "holy chit, did you see that. They are gone." We sat there for the next 20 minutes and laughed in a mysterious way.

I told him it could be possible, especially as warm as the water gets/stays year round.

So, I don't have any pics and he likes to watch them "Sasquatch sighting" shows, but are there alligator(s) in Squaw Creek?

Yes, there are alligators in Squaw. I am thinking a couple months back a guy posted a picture of one that was about 8-12ft long. Few weeks later when I went to Squaw I was talking with the guy at the gate and he confirmed that there were a few gators in the area.

Yes. The rules state do not mess with the reptiles. Those towers you see around the lake are watching your every move too.

Were it was funny, after my son caught that catfish, I told him to wash the slime off his hands in the water. He looked at me real funny eeks I couldn't help but laugh some more. That was the first time on the lake. Supposed to have a tourney there next weekend.

They shot one a couple winters ago. There are more than one in the lake I am sure. I've seen the one up in the river last winter.

Chasin hogs, I've seen that same gator in the same place many times. That's the only one I've ever seen there though.

We had two guys in our club fall out of boats last year on Squaw. I can guarantee they will be a little more careful knowing this... laugh
