Hey everyone. I recently purchased the navionics platinum south. However, I'm having a heck of a time getting everything to work. I have a 997c humminbird, but the unit doesn't even recognize that there is a chip. I've read around and perhaps a software upgrade will fix this.

My main concern revolves around using the PC app. I've got the topo charts to come up (after spending something like 4hrs watching it load 1010 mbs). Is there a way to view the 3d topo on the pc? What about the pics? It sure as hell would have been helpful for them to put some sort of directions in... you know, considering their chargin $200 for a chip.

Any help would be great! I'm just trying to see what this thing can do.

forgot to mention that I did try the search function, because I'm sure this has been covered, but it has said "search disabled" on the site for the last few days for me.

I've had the platinum for a while now and have had several updates. I have the 1197 and it recognizes the card automatically. I also bought the PC app this weekend and it is great. It took me a long time to download too but it isn't 3d.

Hit menu key twice, arrow over to setup, arrow down until you see the card slot selection. Select left, or right slot to match where card is. Go back to menu twice arrow over all the way to right on tool bar, select the card there. If thats all ok, and you still cant see the 3d, check the overlay setting in %. I usually run mine around 30%, but whatever suites you best. Hope this helps.
