Does anyone know if they make a method feeder or lead for a safety clip set up? I have 3 piece rods and in-line method leads are a pain to use when setting up and breaking down. Any ideas appreciated.

Yes. They are out there. I have some that are basically Distance Leads with a loose spring around it. It was a St. Lawrence lead from Big Carp Tackle. Not sure if they're still available, but worth a shot.

The physics of it will give you more problems than benefits. Just get some rod lead bands and they will protect it. I use them on my rods with no problems

Like he said,he problem with using a method lead on a bolt bead is that you will cast off the method a lot because of the awkward physics of having all that weight offset from the line.

These work well too:

But I also prefer the inline method weights and feeders, like Chad said.

This is what I once used, but stopped after I got tired of losing leads on the cast.
I agree, inline...

I now use these on my running rigs.

I kind of figured this would be the issue. I'll probably just invest in new rods at some point. I was just seeing if there was an alternative. Thanks for the input.
