trolling motor batteries wont hold a charge, trolling motor wont turn over "while being on charger" i know its the batteries, but could my trolling motor be out as well? its a motorguide 24v 80lb.

A cheap hydrometer will tell you if or not your batteries are bad. If they are, get some new ones and then try out the trolling motor. I doubt it would quit at the same time your batteries do.

i dont see why it would go bad either, had the batteries checked by a marine mechanic, he said they were bad, and that he couldnt get them to hold a charge.

Trolling motor draws too many amps to run on a battery charger. It runs on the batteries and the charger replenishes the batteries. If the batteries won't take the charge, trolling motor doesn't run
