Which casting rod would you recommend for throwing large soft plastics. It would be used for 8-10 inch worms or creature baits texas rigged, or soft plastic rigged on 3/8oz pivot point football head jig, and maybe medium to large swimbaits.
Is there 1 Dobyns rod that you would recommend for this use? Thanks in advance for the feedback.

I have been using my Champions Series 736C for a year now here at Falcon and highly recommend it for what you are planning on using it for. The rod is 7'3" in length making it a good all-around rod for many applications. It is rated for 15-30 lb line and I have used reels with everything from 20 lb mono to 65 braid on this rod. The Champion Series is strong enough for good hook sets on larger fish yet sensitive enough to feel whats going on. If you were limited to one Dobyns rod in the boat this would be a good choice.

The medium to large swimbaits throws me for a loop so imma go with a dx745 or 764! I throw a 6" hudd on the 764 but I wouldn't go any larger as its a lil weighty for it
If I was gonna throw swimbaits exclusively I would get the 795 or 806

Champion 735 or 736 gets my vote. I lean more towards the 735 with 3/8oz lures.

Champion 736 for the lures you mentioned except for the medium to large swim baits assuming you mean 1oz and larger swim baits. You would need a different rod for that.

The Champion 735 would do everything you want it to do and more in the way of big worms and jigs up to 1/2 oz or but i wouldn't throw much in the way of large swimbaits on it, or if you want a little more sensitivity go with the DX745, Swimbaits are awhole new catagory once you get into anything beyond 5", If above there go with the Champion 795 ML SB, I assure you this rod rawks. The Champion 764C would do what you want as well if you like a longer rod, for me personally i like the power of a 5 power rod for what you've spoken about
Here is how the list them
735C 7’3″ 1pc. 12-25lb, 1/4-1 1/2oz, Med/Hvy Ex Fast Frogs, Pitchin’ & Flippin’, Small Swimbaits
DX 745C FH 7’4″ 1pc. 12-25lb, 3/8-1 1/2oz, Mag Hvy Fast Heavy Jigs, Carolina Rigs, Pitchin’ Stick
764C 7’6″ 1pc. 12-25lb, 1/4-1 1/2oz, Hvy Fast Carolina Rigs, Light Flippin’, Jigs, Spinnerbaits, Small Swimbaits

I use a 734 for the plastics you mentioned and jigs up to 1/2 oz. I find the 734 to be a very versatile rod... As far as the swimbaits go, I can't comment there as I don't throw medium to large swimbaits...

Thanks for the great feedback from everyone! I'm going to go with the 734C for now and start saving for a 795 to use exclusively for swimbaits.

DX 745 for me. Maybe the best rod they make IMHO. MMM, I don't know since I have never used a DX 745 but I do know that the DX 784 is bad to the bone for a C rig rod.

The 784 would rank right up there with the 745 for me as far as my favorite rods go, and i agree it's a great C rig rod, but for Texas rigs, I like the 745 better.
