This report has its ups and downs...im going to go ahead and skip ahead to one of the saddest times ive ever been while fishing...
Was fishing with Misterwill and company from Corpus fishing, met them out there and the bite was good.....
it started to get slow and i was thinking of calling it a day...
cast...*THUMP* told will right away "oh yeah this is a big fish" was pulling drag then ...
up came the head of the biggest trout ive ever seen in my life...a monster that would have been mid 30's...way over my PB of 32"
Im freaking out i didnt know what to do first, grabbed the net was thinking of turning on the head cam to get on film..
Will starts paddling over to net the fish for me...
it comes right by my yak i take in the slack and right when the tension came back on the lure comes out....
SAD!
anyways ill get it again sooner or later...
Now the good stuff!
I couldnt sleep nervous to see the weather in the morning....
said to hell with it and jumped in the truck at 5:30
was on the water at 6:15 still dark, i decided to throw a topwater which i never do but i felt better throwing a top them a soft plastic..
first cast...POP!.... imissed it but now my hearts going
casted over same spot...POP ZZZ!
18" trout

Fish on the stringer and sun wasnt even up yet...
few casts later...
well..
ive haver caught anything big off a topwater, and i always heard that when a big trout takes a topwater its almost always a "slurp" instead of a "SMACK"
i see a big trout head come up and it slurped that freakin topwater..
i paused for a bit didnt believe it then set the hook and the fight was ooon!
It has some shoulders pulled me around pulled drag i got it by the yak and it looked like it swallowed the lure
it dived headshakes comes back up and its barely lip hooked o.O
getting wet from it tail shaking and headshaking finally netted and in the yak
YEAAAA!WHOOO!

It measured out at 28 and some change have to check the ruler pic again
sun came up and i switched to my Plumtreous Brownlure flappin devil
every cast was a hit just about
caught a couple undersize and 3 more keepers from 17-20
....will and cary were chasing them tooo...will had nada yet but cary had a nice 23-24 incher in the yak on a brown lure strawberry devil eye...

It was a great morning on the water, and great fishing with new friends. I left before them so hopefully they got some bigguns too before the storm......Till next time...life is good! =)
