What rod and reel combination do you like the best ?

Dobyn's 766 flip and Shimano Curado.

Dobyns 735 and a Revo mgx.But any Revo would do.

Possibly the 736 depending where & cover & size of fish I was after

I use Lamiglas Excel 7116C with Revo SX and one with a Daiwa Viento.

Kistler Jig-N-Toad 7ft hvy or Kistler BroomStick 7ft x-hvy paired with a Quantum Kinetic 7.0:1 or Chronarch 101A depending on the weight of the lure I'm pitching/flipping.

7'0 MH Falcon HD rod with an Abu Garcia Orra SX reel. Cant go wrong.

If you are going to "flip" I would use a heavy action rod at least 7ft 6inches in length. A longer rod would be even better for flipping to give you more distance with the "flip" and gives you more leverage. The reel to "flip" with doesn't matter much since you guide the line and bait out with your hand. The reel is used mostly to bring the bait back in.


Now if you are talking about "pitching" that is altogether a different technique. I would use a different rod and reel for "pitching" than I would for "flipping".

I use a Johnny Morris carbon black combo with the 7.3:1

Pitching I use a Cara Amistad (7'3 heavy) with a Revo Premier, flipping (which I rarely do) I use my frog setup, 7'10" Cara XH with a Revo S.

I use a 7'6" heavy Vendetta with a H20 XPRESS Menace 7.1:1 and 65 lb power pro because that's all I can afford But it works really good for me

For flipping only set up: A aredent F-700 and a 8" Gary Kliene Quantum custom rod shop !

Right. He's gotta be Pitchin'. Ain't too many dedicated Flippers out there,anymore.

I love my American Rodsmiths Denny Brauer Perfect Flipping Stick and have a Curaod E7 on it.
