Most of the old timers in east texas swear by it, and most of "them" have been whacken em their whole life. I still have a couple of years before I qualify as an old timer.

I'd rather use Perry's Almanac!

He knows ALOT more than that ol' rag yer talking about (or at least he thinks he does)! And besides, will the Farmer's Almanac give you advice AND pack yer bearings for ya?

I'll have to give you the bearings aspect. But seriously, do you think that monster bass fishing in the great state of Texas started 20 years ago? The methods and techniques of exstrapilating precise information on weather and moon phase were developed by these guys and the like. This game has been going on for a long time boy's.

Reading the Almanac is some fascinating stuff! Just like John said, it's been going on alot longer than we think. Nature always gives some nice little clues to those that are observant.

When the big ant hills start to become prevelant at a certain time of year, it signifies a certain type of fishing that I like to do and it ain't spawn fishing!

Remember many a time at my grandparents summer stay that if the almanac wasnt good or best,..they didnt go. Id go down to the stock tank and try my best to show they were wrong,...one single fish was a trophy to me to show they were wrong, theyd just smile. Then when they did go, at the set time I just blew it off as a lucky day. Wish those carefree days were back, but now I just have fun like I always did just trying.
