Looks like a warmouth, which is a sunfish. Bass are also a sunfish, they are all in the same family.

Well I definitely wasn't calling it a bass but I thought it might be a crappie....Oh well, I will quietly go back to browsing the forums and never mention this to him....LOL

I have heard them called warmouth, rock bass, google eye. 3 names for the same fish, deff in the sunfish family
